Laurits Marcelius Skunes, ordained 1895.  Associated with the United (Norwegian Lutheran) Church, 1895 - present.

Born at Vass, Karmsund, Kristiansand, on Dec. 8, 1864.  His parents were Nils Nesheim and Marie (nee Madsen).

He attended county school in Stavanger and night school in Vass in 1885 before immugrating to the US in 1888.  He studied at Augsburg College from 1888-1892, Augsburg Seminary, 1892-1893, United Church Seminary, 1893-1895.

He served as a pastor in Warren MN, 1895-1900; Glyndon (Buffalo) MN, 1900-1903, Perley MN 1903-1906; Hillsboro ND, 1906-current.

He married Hannah Larson in 1895.
